What does a coupon represent?
To put it shortly, coupons are ways to obtain products or services at a better fare, with a discount. Some companies decide to make such offers in order to publicize their site and attract more customers.
Use of this site
Whether you use the search feature or simply decide to list all the companies from the database, when you click on a company's name you will be taken to a new page where you can find a more complete description of the company, along with the coupon(s) they have listed on this site. You will evaluate the offer and then you will be able to go to the company's website and make the purchase using the coupon. Make sure you are being asked about the coupon before you complete the transaction and thus avoid any unpleasant problems that might occur afterwards.
How to use coupons online
If the coupon is a code, the company that released it will ask you to enter it when you decide to buy one of their products/services, during the checkout. The space where you type in the code might be labeled Gift Certificate, Discount Code, or some other name. Click continue and the next page will show your new subtotal, minus the coupon. Some retailers prefer to use coded links. When you click through, you'll be taken to a page on their site that features the coupon. In many cases you will have to click a button there to make use of the coupon.
Troubles when using a coupon. What happened?
This can happen because you didn't enter the coupon's code right or because that specific coupon expired. I try to keep the database updated, but even so, it can happen that some companies decide to stop the existence of a coupon before the announced date of expiration without letting me know. A company may decide to disable a coupon for various reasons, some of them being that the promotion was a big success and they sold many packages than they hoped they would, or contrary, the coupon didn't bring the results expected from it. The error message that you get when you try to use a coupon can also appear because most coupons can be used only one time by the same person or because they can be used only by new customers. In either case you can drop an e-mail and I will investigate.
I'm a hosting company and I want to add a coupon on your site. How to do that?
I invite you to do so after reading the article "Add a coupon" by filling the contact form.
Problems with a company? Things to do.
If you think a certain company didn't treat you right or that they tricked you with something, you can always contact the consumer help sites. Please do so only when you are convinced that it was something done to you on purpose because errors can happen and you should not cause problems to those who are innocent.
If the matter is a very serious one you can always try and contact the local authorities (your local authorities or the ones from the state where the company is running the business from). If you want to press charges, it would be best to contact the ones from their end since they have more power in that area.
Notes:
If you encounter a problem and you need/want to cancel your order, call the provider's customer service right away. A cancellation request made by e-mail may not be read before it's too late and things can't be undone.
Print out your confirmation and receipt.
If you see an offer that looks great there are high chances that it will expire soon. Try to act on it pretty fast before that coupon is pulled.
